Mr. Hathaway
Is well versed in developing physical plant evaluations for facilities while, simultaneously, addressing any Risk-Management, Life Safety or OSHA issues. He utilizes his expertise to prioritize a facility’s needs and assists in developing a ‘Plan of Action’. In addition, he works with facility administrators and maintenance directors to develop operational budgets and/or develop short or long term capital plans.
He has worked for Lockton Insurance Brokers (Los Angeles, CA) since 1999. He has performed Risk Management, Workers Compensation/OSHA surveys in health care facilities for Lockton throughout the southeast and eastern sea coast areas. His prior experience as the Vice President of Physical Plant and Construction for Integrated Health Services, Inc. (10 years) gave him valuable insight in Risk Management, Workers Compensation, OSHA and Life Safety; while working with Lockton at that time to lower ihs’s risk exposure.
Mr. Hathaway has worked for DBH Resources, Inc. a nationwide risk management firm based in Los Angeles, CA since 2000. He has performed Risk Management Assessments for Builder/Contractor reviews as well as the Health Care Field. His prior experience as a Builder/Contractor himself gives him a good understanding of both sides of the table. His travel throughout the southeast region performing Risk Management Assessments has given him a broader perspective and insight into this arena.
Hathaway Resources has worked closely with facility administrators to co-manage maintenance directors, and ensure facilities’ compliance in Maintenance, EPA, OSHA and Life Safety codes.
Mr. Hathaway has served on many of the committees of the Agency for Health Care Administration’s Office of Plans and Construction, including Life Safety, Medical Specialty Units, Risk Management, Granny Cam, Disaster Recovery and Code Updates.
He has worked as a project manager, monitoring and inspecting new construction of health care facilities. In addition, Mr. Hathaway has extensive experience in managing citations from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Agency for Health Care Administration, OSHA and local fire marshals & boards of health. He also manages certifications for a variety of systems, including nurse call, fire suppression and fire alarms.
Mr. Hathaway is experienced in designing a “scope of work” for projects, utilizing architects and engineers to develop plans and specifications. In addition, he performs physical plant due diligence on pending acquisitions, and provides cost projections.
